Rig

Soliddd is currently assembling the equipment and locations for its initial small stage trials. This will be with a select group of eyecare professionals and their current patients. Once the small stage trials and data analysis are completed, trials will be opened up to the wider group of individuals that suffer from specific eyecare conditions.

Further updates regarding trials will be made through the Soliddd newsletter.

Soliddd Selected as Finalist for Second VSP Vision Innovation Challenge

VSP Vision’s Global Innovation Center and MATTER, the premier healthcare incubator and innovation hub, have announced Soliddd as one of the six finalists for its second annual VSP Vision Innovation Challenge, a global competition to source and advance solutions enhancing the eye care experience.

The six startups — with three early-stage, including Soliddd, and three late-stage—will present their solutions live on stage during Vision Expo West, the optical industry’s largest gathering of vision care professionals and executives, on September 18 in Las Vegas.

Topcon Healthcare, Inc. is supporting the 2025 program by offering early-stage finalists the potential to secure a $400,000 investment from their THINC Ventures corporate venture capital arm.

Soliddd was chosen for its “AR glasses for macular degeneration that restore full-field sight to functionally blind people. The company is also testing the device’s effect on people living with glaucoma, optic neuritis, cone-rod dystrophy, retinitis pigmentosa, and severe astigmatism.”

Soliddd's CEO Neal Weinstock Featured in Mashable Story on Accessibility, Affordability, and Tariffs

As reported by Mashable, "Organizations like the Consumer Tech Association (CTA), which facilitates a cohort of accessibility-based consumer tech companies and provides foundation grants to programs that serve seniors and people with disabilities, have been outspoken about the unintended consequences of the government's economic plan. 'Make no mistake: American consumers, families, and workers will feel real pain,' said CTA CEO and Vice Chair Gary Shapiro."

"Amid a churning pricing storm, smaller companies dedicated to creating accessible tech are feeling the squeeze, already navigating a byzantine economic and regulatory reality. The plight of these companies is especially notable, since they serve one of the largest consumer populations — even people who aren't disabled in their younger years often utilize visual, hearing, or breathing aids as they age."
